If it's anything like last week, maybe it's the prism itself? Which... doesn't sound good. It's supposed to react to us, so that's like saying we're the ones who made this happen. It means we're the ones who could stop it, too, but it might be harder now that it's started.
That is what the residents said before, though - that it reacts to those of us here within it. But it means we still have a chance to change it, right?
